Activities and Attractions
The Bishop's Lodge provides a wide range of activities at each delightful season of the year.
Spring celebrates with leafing trees and delicate blossoms as gardens come to life... it's the time
for trail rides, tennis, and taking in Santa Fe sights.
Summer days conclude with dramatic sunsets and nights out at the opera. Kids enjoy the Summertime
Children's Program, outdoor cookouts, and afternoons by the pool.
Fall brings dazzling colors invigorated by the crispness of clean mountain air. Fall harvests
complement our dinner specials as evening flames flicker in your cozy fireplace.
Winter holidays arrive with a special Santa Fe touch! Enjoy spectacular skiing on nearby peaks
from Thanksgiving into spring. Complimentary shuttle to the nearby Santa Fe Ski Area.
Horseback Riding
Saddle up year round! The Lodge offers memorable trail rides in the dramatic
foothills and canyons on the ranch, and in the adjacent Santa Fe National Forest. During summer
season, the destination might be the "Mesa Vista" campsite, a hearty trailside breakfast and a cup
of "Cowboy Coffee".
Tennis
Four omni-court "turf" courts, teaching pro, and tennis shop available mid-April through
mid-October. At 7,000 feet, you'll need special "high altitude" tennis balls.
Hiking
Start off on our self-guided Nature Walk before venturing to the 7700' viewpoint above the Lodge.
There is a system of marked trails with detailed hiking map; unmarked trails await the more
adventurous in the adjacent Santa Fe National Forest. The Lodge has its own bird list and is a
member of the Audubon Co-operation Sanctuary System.
Pool Facilities
Relax at the prettiest pool in northern New Mexico, surrounded by lawns and towering cottonwoods,
blue skies, and abundant sunshine. Summertime lifeguard and bar service. Indoor 8' X 10' whirlpool,
exercise room with treadmill, bicycles, and hydraulic machines. Massage available by appointment.
Early morning and late afternoon lap times in the 30' X 60' heated pool. Pool open April through
October.
