The Santa Fe Plaza
The Plaza is the center of Santa Fe historically, culturally and geographically.
The Plaza has served as the end of El Camino Real (The Spanish Royal Road from Mexico City),
The Santa Fe Trail and the Old Pecos Trail. Now ringed by restaurants, shops and museums it
is a gathering place for locals and tourists alike. During fiestas, art market weekends,
parades, political rallies, and nearly every event the Plaza is filled with people shopping,
eating, cheering or just watching each other.
Parking is always difficult near the Plaza, so we recommend finding a spot in a
city lot or just leave your car at the hotel if you are staying nearby.
The Plaza is best experienced on foot, as businesses and vendors are packed
tightly in the blocks surrounding the square itself.
